VF2 Z way Cover

Anybody know of a trick or adjustment to quiet that "bang" when retracting in Z at full rapid?

On mine its just chips that get stuck on the sides of the cover which causes it to "POP" or sound like a gun shot. I use a 6" steel rule and clean out the chips every day or two and it seems to fix the problem.

Brand new SS here. I figured it was because they put a standard way cover on a WAY faster machine. Thats the only "problem" really. It's a relatively quiet R&D shop so it's loud. Actually, it's probably only loud to me being in front of the machine. Thanks for the tip tho slatern

No.

If it bothers you just take tranquilizers.

I have to admit the first time I heard it I hit RESET and spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I had run things into. Now I just ignore it.
