Do any of you guys know how the print function works when probing parts for size? Does it write an MDI program showing you the results? If that's the case, one could simply save that program and save it to the USB, yes? |

| Matt, I'm looking at pages 24 and 25, chapter 7, in the Renishaw/Haas manual. On 24 the print data is set with a Ww of 1. for increment and feature only and 2. to increment the component number and reset the feature number. It looks like this has to be preceded with a Uu code which is explained in chapter 3-optional outputs. The actual values are stored in Haas variables #185 through #199. The manual # is H-2000-6222. I think it's important to get this specific manual because it is directed at the Renishaw package made for the Haas machines. As I recall I downloaded it from the Haas web site. Vern |

| Vern is right - the W value triggers the print capability - but this is DPRNT which can only go through the RS232 I believe. I have written some VQC templates which populate both the print data and tolerances. Otherwise it's a case of looking at the macro variables I'm afraid. As far as I know there is no other way of writing to the screen or USB. |

| Huh. I don't even have an RS232 hookup on my control! USB and a light switch, that's it. I'll have to mess around with it. Thanks guys. I have the same manual as Vern and I understand the inputs (I think my post title is worded poorly), I was just curious what happens after the probe gathers info and goes to "print". These controls need a little calculator-type printer on them. |
