| Don't worry, not on the TM machines anyway. Your spindle will not go backwards, it is driven by a vector drive that synthesizes variable frequency three phase AC from the DC buss. The incoming three phase supply is rectified onto the DC buss and the phase relationship coming in is not important for this. The reason the board has the phase detect is that the same board is used on all the Haas machines and when it is a lathe with a hydraulic pump that runs on the incoming three phase supply the phasing has to be correct for this pump. Also on the VF machines with high pressure through spindle coolant I think the pump motor is a three phase and must rotate correctly. The other coolant pump motors do run from the incoming supply but they are single phase so again the phasing is not important.
