Dangit, I was looking for information, not trying to help a bunch of people =)

The boss (dad) thinks it is too much $$ for what it does.

Ah well.

Thanks

Wrong approach, my advice is don't follow Dad on this one. The cost should be compared with the value of the time it saves; if it knocks 30 seconds off the reload time for the machine and your shop rate is $1.00 a minute you figure out how many times you have to reload before it has paid for itself.

Of course you do have to add in the cost of replacing Locline it seems.

Hum, The fan cost about the same as 40 gallons of fuel and it will save you about a short minute per load on your cycle time. I'm still scatching my head!! My fan works great for my application, short parts with lots of pocketing and drilling and the operator only blows air now to clean off the pallet after removing the parts. 8000RPM and 600IPM only take 5 seconds.

chip fan other than lang

looking for an impeller or blade type fan for a vertical cnc with a diameter under 8". Other than Lang Clean-Tec, which I use now. Very nice fan but lose a spring on a sidewinder tool changer good chance of loosing a blade or much worse the little housing nubs that hold the springs

Thanks in advance

Calvin

fan

I've used them in tool shows. MAKE A LOT OF NOISE ! The high torque startup of a newer Mori would destroy them. Have to increase the RPM slowly or kaboom. Worked ok on verticals, used to turn on the through spindle coolant to rinse the chips off then air dry with the fan. Don't know I would waste my money on one for a vertical though. On a pallet system they are awesome, keeps mess outside the machine down. JMO.
