    Installing Haas Indexing Head?

This question is for anyone that has installed a Haas indexing head on their mill. I've got a new VF-6/50 here in the shop that we are looking at adding an indexing head to. At the time of purchase the indexing head wiring upgrade was purchased. My question is for those that have added an indexing head, what did you do with the tool setter on the table and if you had it, what did you do with the programmable coolant nozzle? The indexing head mounts to the right side of the table so the probe needs to be removed or moved in my eye and the coolant nozzle looks like it would be in the way as well.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Can't help you with the probe, but for the coolant nozzle you program carefully .

On one machine I adjusted the Z axis lower limit in the Parameters so it is impossible to come down far enough to hit the Rotary Table with the Coolant Nozzle, but all the tools can still reach the part.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

That's a good idea with adjusting the lower limit on the Z axis Geoff. I will remember that when it comes time to install the idexing head.

Yes, we are perplexed with the same issue here too.
Everything is on the right side.............. The indexer, coolant nozzles, pcool.
When working realy close to indexer it is quite hard to get optimum flow, but we deal with it and still bought a Haas.
Don't have a probe though and never seen one in use on a haas.
Worked with one on a Monarch. How good does the probe work?
Don't have a toolsetter but wish we did. Have one on the Lathe though.

your tool setter can be mounted on the extreem left side, just in enough to set tools, you can also mount the sensor for the touch probe on the left side,
if you do that you shouldn't have any blind spots due to the indexing head.
we have done this on a VF4,
I would check the length of your wiring harness, they are a bit stingy with
    the wire.
