    Networking HAAS

Hi there, been off for a while.

We are about to get another VF6 witch will make 3 VF6 and 1 VF4. Its time to network I believe. All machines have ethernet cards and are ready to go. I just dont want to spend 25 large on server software. Does anyone know of anyhting that is a little more affordable as far as software is concerned? And if not, am I going to have problems with windows Vista's network settings?

    Please help

The Haas control can be hooked up to your Windows network without any additional software. Haas has documentation on their web site for the basic connection.
The one security issue I ran into was that if the Windows firewall was NOT enabled the DHCP protocol would not recognize the Haas control and allow a connection.

If you are considering a serial DNC network, Vega DATA-View supports the Haas with both Xon/Xoff and XModem. It also supports file mid-starts with point and click start-up.
The DATA-Optimize is really impressive on the new Haas systems and can reduce cycle time of complex part surfaces by more than 50% and with a better surface finish.

There is a FREE fully functional demo at www.vegacnc.com

    Bill,

Is there a trial for the Data optimize program.
Went there and seen a lot of stuff, but not that exact program?
    Have an interest in it.

If your machines have Haas' Ethernet Interface with or without the hard drive you can run your programs directly from a Windows PC or copy them to the control. You do not need any server software, you don't need to copy the files to the control allowing unlimited program size. I use a dedicated PC running XP because crashing and restarting this machine will cause the mill to stop.
