Angry 1995 VF2

Hey guys..

Well I got my VF2 monday mornining. First thing I noticed was that the display screen looks like it has numbers burnt into it. No power to the machine at this time and you can read numbers that were once there. I got all the power and air hooked up check all my voltages and everything check out right. So I pushed power on button and the fans and everything turned on but the display screen never came on. There is a small green light that comes on in the bottom right hand corner on the bezel that covers the screen but the display screen will never come on. This is as far as I can get. I can't go to jog mode and move xyz or power up restart or g28. If you unhook the air hose it throws the alarm. Hook it back up and hit reset it turns the red light off. Hit emergency stop and it throws the red light alarm, then you pull it out and hit reset and it clears it. Whats going on. Is my display screen fried. Any one have this problem.

Thanks Justin Stuckenschneider

Even though the screen won't come on,are you saying when you push power up restart nothing happens? You wouldn't be able to move in any axes untill the servos are on after start up.As far as the burn in that's not a problem,I have the same thing on a 2000.

Yes whenever you push the power up restart it does nothing. And on a older haas that I ran before you had to hit reset to get the servos going, and it made a clicking noise. Mine doesn't make the clicking noise so does that mean the servos aren't starting up??

Try a different monitor.

Justin,
I would take the monitor panel off and plug in a standard computer monitor,(a monitor that you know works) to see if it's the monitor or possibly a video card. Have you checked all of the circuit breakers in the back panel to see if one may be tripped? If you are not hearing the "click", it could be you are not getting power from the master control relay contactor. It could also be a bad (5 and 12 volt DC) power supply. Hope this helps somewhat.

New Problem

This morning after i got off work i came home took the back panel off of the control panel. and wiggled some wires and stuff like that and the computer screen came on and works good. Now the problem i am having is when push power up restart button to zero the machine it has a door hold alarm. i went and turned door hold paramater off and it still has door hold showing on the screen. No alarm tho. also when you got to jog mode and select the axes to move it says no Z axes. or no X axes ect. ON the back control panel when you start the machine up and come to the menu to press reset to engage the servos, a red light comes on next to the relay for the servos, and clicks so the servos are on. But no xyz moving with handle jog or power up restart zero. Any ideas????

Thanks

Have you tried sending each axis home all by itself?
I don't know about the newer ones but ones like ares you can't move in any axis untill they have been homed, unless I'v been missin something all these years
I do know that is the messege you get though,(no x-y-z axis).
