    Question keyboard,,

    hi all,,, new too this forum,, so have some patience,,,thanks,,,

    having a problem with my vf-7 ,,, sometimes the keypad works ,and sometimes it doesnt,, I boot up the machine and press the keypad,
    and there is no response ,, i have taken off the panel in the back ,,
    and made sure everthing is tight, the ground wire for the pendent was loose ,,, and i silcon one of the socket fitting ,to keep from coming apart
    ,,

    any help ,,,,thanks

    do any of the keys work? What year machine? Any damage to the keypad?

    keypad on vf7

    no keys work at this time ,,, machine is a 2000 and ,,no damage to the
    keypad has happened,,, i take very good care of this machine ,,

    the keypad was working intermittently ,,then just stop all together ,,,

    There is several things that it could be, unfortately. First i would try a new keyboard, then there is what is called a SKBIF, (what the keypad plugs into inside of the control pendant). After that you can check the "850" cable back to the Processor board, should be the last board in the stack of boards inside the control cabinet.

    Most of the time its a keypad, more recently i've seen the SKBIF go bad as well, and last but not least (and more expensive) the processor board.

    If the Processor went bad, it usually means that you just lost all your programs and par/sets. So hopefully it will work once again, to where you can save those before it (if its the problem) goes out completely.

    All this info, im assuming that you have a brushless mill, if you have a brush mill some things will be different.
