Intiutive programming.

Can anyone tell me how to turn off (or take out) the intuitive programming on a tm-1. I would rather just have the jog feature and use VQC when I need to. Thanks if anyone can help.

It's in the parameters or settings. Page through 'em. It wasn't hard to find. Yours will have an unlock code next to it. I turned mine on for the trial period.

Already turning it off? Didn't like it either, huh?

It's great on the lathe. I didn't find it as useful on the mill.

Okay thanks. I'll go and look there now. I was just a little shy of going into those pages. I've had the TM-1 for a month or so and 5 weeks ago I had no G code experience. I would rather just learn to program by hand and having to rigamarolly around with the jog function just to jog gets old.
I'm not sure how to change it if I find it though. And thanks for the help.

You don't actually have to turn it off to use any of the manual functions. The machine is the same after you turn it off. The only thing you'll lose is the IPS screens you get into by pressing the Hand Jog key.

If you want to manually program, press the Edit key or go into MDI and away you go. No need to turn it off.

Thank you for helping on this. Getting rid of the screen is what I am trying to do in jog. Sorry for not being clear on that. From what I have read VQC is almost the same and it's there if I need or want it. I didn't get a programming manual for it (it was used with 700 spindle hours) but I have written a few programs in the last few weeks althugh very simple ones, that were done buy reading a G code list and trial and error. The graphics sreen is great for watching to he tool path and I found it last week. I don't think I'll ever use the IPS so getting rid of the screen now would be nice.
Thanks for your input again.

Is this the machine that was in San Luis Obispo about 6 months ago (with a matching TL-1)?

You can download and print all of the manuals right from the Haas website:
http://www.haascnc.com/custserv_updates.asp#custserv

You can find both the standard VF manual as well as the Intuitive supplement. That should help you quite a bit.

I think Geof just answered a similar question for me on my TL-1 lathe. I guess you can go into the Manual tab and use that screen as a digital readout.

The bigger thing I'd be concerned about is that you didn't get the manual with the machine. It comes with all of the factory parameters and settings. It's like a birth certificate and should be kept with the machine. Haas has those specs but it's helpful to have them handy.

The reason I mention it is that I think you need the unlock codes to re-enable features like the IPS (if you change your mind).

It was a TM-1 that the Anahiem HFO had when I called around looking for one. I did look on the HAAS web site and didn't see a link for manuals and the HFO said they thought they were there but didn't know where either. I ordered one from Selway (closer to me) and then saw your post on another thread showing the link but it was too late. I did have to give them my serial number for them to order it so I'm hoping it has the information in it you mentioned. For the IPS unlock code to enable it later, I have that as well.
Thanks for taking the time to answer, it's a big help really.
