vf-3 stuck in "zero out"

Our vf-3 was fired up this AM and when we power up restarted the mach hung up with a wait/reset message. after 10 min. no change reset was pressed and screen went to zero out.
momentary display of other screens occur when other function keys are pressed ie; mem, edit, handle, mdi, list ,params, offset etc.
zero all works( with wait/reset message)and g28 same.
however the coolant pump does turn on and tool release functions.
The op manual describes lock settings but there doesnt seem to be a way to get at them. the mach is only 2.5yrs old.
Does anyone have any clues? Stuck/ shorted Keypad ?

Is the machine payments current and does Haas know? Might be something like a new password required after x hours operation.

Is the compressor on?

How do things look in the main cabinet? Are the LEDs on where they should be, and the drives have power?

Re boot the control. If that dosen't work turn off the power to the machine for a min or two. Then re boot. If that fails call for help. May be a stuck soft limit switch.
