| forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think that is an alarm saying the shuttle isn't moving in and out,(I'm at home, not at work, where manual is).If that is the case, there is a small shaft on the shuttle with a set screw, that screw can back out and couse alarm. |

fuzzyracing / you are right but the arm that that set screw holds down has probably moved far enough (over time) that it has lost contact with the servo causing the Shuttle alarm and halting progress. Probably leaving the head in the carousel ? We have fixed this in a pinch by just moving the bar back over so that it contacts the servo. It takes some time to move back over to case the alarm again. You should beat that machine Last edited by swisher101; 03-25-2008 at 11:58 AM. Reason: that wasn't you |

I have seen a multitude of shuttle problems and I always start at the basics. Check to make certain that your limit switches are moving completely free. This means NO coolant or gummy residue. Clean out the plungers with contact cleaner. If the switch (s) are releasing too slowly the machine parameters will time out and throw the alarm. Also, check the relays in the back panel. Look for the four Omron relays and verify that these are working properly. These two checks have repaired 98% of my shuttle faults. Hope this helps.

That set screw backed out once, then it got tread locker, never did it again. I have to be nice to my vf4,or the cnc gods will make it break down and that would make me miss my vacation! |
