TM-1 Tool changer install

Anybody install a Tool Changer on a TM-1, any tips or tricks.
Looking to install one myself, just wondering if has been done without an HFO to install it

Geof will become famous soon enough

Contact pit202 he bought a toolchanger for a TM recently so he must be planning on installing it.

Based on some of his posts that I have read he will figure out all the problems.

I'm all eyes and ears on this thread!

You guys in the States are lucky you can just upgrade your TMs ... the European Union prohibits machines with tool changers unless they have a complete enclousure... man, I could REALLY use a toolchanger myself too!

Good luck on getting yours installed Piter!

I don`t see any problems with that , the tool changer is so simple fast like a hammer ( not a vehicle ) ;-) I know what to change in parameters and I know what is going on - when the time comes it will be working , here is no other way

drawing

Hi pit202,

I just took some pictures of my TM-1P and I think your drawing is incorrect.

I will try to download the pictures and give you some dimensions. I have taken the measurements with a tape measure and the may not be perfect.

Hope this will be of some help.

Updated with pictures and dimension information. Click on pictures for picture number.

Picture 1 Vertical height of square tubing 16.250 inches
Picture 2 View from side window
Picture 3 Front to rear (less name plate) 17.625 inches
Picture 4 Width of plate from front to back of machine 8.00 inches
Picture 5 From tip of Red Bracket (outside edge) to end of tube 10.9375 inches
Picture 6 Back view of arm
Picture 7 Side view of arm
Picture 8 Mounting plate on top of mill
Picture 9 Mounting plate measures 8.00 inches from front to back and 5.50 inches from side to side. Plate has 6 holes, 4 bolts and 2 holes for dowel locating pins.

John

Thanks John, this will be very helpful , maybe my arm is from an old tm1 without a "P", I got this from haas service manual. For me this isn`t making difference , this must fit and only this count ;-) thanks again.
