Getting a little bit of oil on top of the vise after a day or so, looks to be coming from the Spindle bearings area. Any idea if that can be re-sealed, packed? What oil is used in the Spindle, is it an oil bath type, don't want this to get outta hand and bite me later. Thanks for any advice, Smitty |

| The TM's use grease in the spindle, so there shouldn't be any oil in there. On mine if I do a bunch of flood work and then switch to dry for a while, the heat from the spindle flashes off the water in the coolant and I end up with a small amount of oil on the spindle. This doesn't amount to much volume, but I guess you could end up with a drop. I'd wipe down the spindle with wd-40 to get all of the residue off, and leave it running on max rpm all night and see if you have any fresh deposits.

| Smitty, Do you have a in-line oiler in the air line ? Never had a drip of any kind here, as DSL PWR said, they use grease, can't imagine getting hot enough to melt the grease without you being very aware. Ken |

| this isn`t oil , I had once those situation on my tm-1 , I get few drops like smittys described , called service ,we have discovered that grease from Z axis is thrown away to spindle, belt and making mess all around, with a little coolant it becomes fluid , brown color like oil , and drops down , you can see a brown line betwean spindle cover and this white eyes cover, just take down spindle cover and see - clean up - write if this helped. |
