EC-630 Pallet Pool for WESTEC

I heard that they have a new version of the Mini Mill ... more travel and it comes with a side mount tool changer : )

Ok Ill bite how much will a Mini Mill with a side mounted tool changer on it go for?

Im thinking you be better off with VF-1 for the money.

I had the same question; what would be the price and how many tools? A Super MiniMill with the 10,000rpm spindle, raised Z axis and a 20 tool side mount changer could be a good machine for medium volume prtoduction of small parts; you could fit three in the space occupied by two VF1 or 2. Even if the total price was more for the minis the overall productivity, initial cost, operating cost calculation could be more favorable.

I've been told by the sales rep in my area their goal is to have at least 16 tools and be under $43K in the Super Mini config

The pallet pool is going to be a nice addition to the EC-630 ... wonder if they'll put a double decker on it?

Interesting stuff. I'm shopping a horizontal with a pallet pool right now.
But I'm looking at Mori, Daewoo, Matsuura, Makino, Niigata, Toyoda and Kitamura
500mm 6 or 8 pallets, for now. Expandable of course. Probing, yada yada.
We want to be able to go lights out in two years.
So, tell me about tool management, tool breakage, how does it handle redundant tools? Tool magazines expandable? I need 180 min.
How does it interface the pallet management into my shop floor software?

I'll leave that to the Haas Apps guy ... I know there is tool management and alot of other features with the pallet pool .. but I know the software has been upgraded with a total new look and better layout ... their continuously striving to better the control software .. by people like yourself ... letting Haas know what you like to see
