Need Help!- Horizontal Machining Centers

Our company is looking to purchase a new horizontal machining center in a few weeks to handle increased demand for precision machined weldments and castings.

We're considering the following machines:

Haas EC-500 or possibly the Haas EC-630

Doosan HP5100

I'm looking for feedback on which is the better machine, and which company is better overall to deal with, with respect to quality, product selection, delivery, service and price. This is just the first of what we hope to be several new machines to be purchased, and we would like to partner with one or two machine suppliers for our company.

Do any of you have first hand experience with these manufacturers and the machines listed above?

I own two Haas' and a Daewoo and a Sharp and an Akira Seiki.
I would take a Daewoo over a Haas any day of the week. It's just a better stronger machine.

Are the machines that you own HMC's, VMC's or other?

The EC-630 is coming out with a pallet pool for WESTEC ... the EC-1600 has been in production a little longer than the EC -630 ...

I nkow of two people that have Haas HMC's that are looking for something that is stouter
I know a shop in Yakima that has 3 Daewoo's and they are buying 2 more in the next couple months. I'm looking at HMC's also and am thinking Daewoo or Mori. They are both very capable but the Mori is more money
I don't know what the Haas is money wise but the Daewoo I'm looking at (HP5100) with 170 tools, 14krpm, Fnuc 18m control, probing AI ANAO, HSM yada yada is about $280k list.
Compare feature to feature.....
I looked at a H5000DCM Mori with 180 tools, same as the Daewoo was about $80k -$100k more.
Those are all 500mm machines.
