    rotary table

Just purchased a used '94' VF-3 wired w/ 4th axis. Apparently Haas no longer supports or makes a rotary table for my machine. (brush controller) The only way to use their newer tables is to buy the controller along w/ the table.

Does anyone know of a different rotary manufacture that will interface with my machine?

Thanks in advance. Only been doing this 2 months and really green.

    Mike

When I was looking at Haas tables, they were IN THE PROCESS of going from Brushed DC to BL motors - they had not yet done so but were "in the process". This was during this past summer. I got mixed signals about BrushDC motor availablity - it depended who you talked to and where.

At the time, they (Haas) was running 24-7 at maiking production tables and were NOT taking "orders" for custom machines. Brushed DC were STILL in production at the time but they were not goind to be doing so for much longer. Supposedly, the "much longer" was thru the end of MY2007 but they would not guarantee it.

Your best bet is to FIND somebody who has an axis in stock - there should be some out there. I would not take NO for an answer, not quite yet as there should be a Haas agent SOMEPLACE who knows how to get rare or "special" stuff. There always is somebody who can find that "special" something that "nobody makes anymore".

Ain't it nice to know that you have a "production" item that the OEM won't "support" anymore. Who do they think they are, Hardinge/Bridgeport????

    Easy solution: buy used.

Look at this from the other side of the table: thousands of brush rotaries were made over the years. What do you suppose happens when those guys buy new machines and they can't get 'brush support'? Yup, they upgrade and sell the old stuff.

This situation actually favors you. Get to searching on eBay and be ready when the right deal turns up. I bought a very nice 2 axis brush rotary for well under $10K.

    Hi
We have a brush type rotary head and Haas suplied a simple converter to use on our 2006 VF3YT. We also have an older VF10 the the same table works on without adaptation.
