I have a 1994 haas vf-2 and I keep getting this x following error running in dnc. It does it totally random. Does anyone know what is causing it? More importantly how to fix it.

Buy me a Beer?

Following error occurs when the difference between the commanded position and the actual has exceeded the value in the maximum FE parameter register.
This can be because the axis cannot physically accelerate (or decelerate) to a feed or rapid or achieve a final position for various reasons.
It should not matter whether it is in DNC mode or not.

This is a bit of a guess because I don't use DNC. Is your program many, many short moves for contouring? Do you have G61 Exact Stop Modal turned on?

If your are doing short quick moves and stopping completely the machine may be overunning where it should stop??

G64 turns Exact Stop Off so try putting that at the top of your program.

Another thing is to play with Setting 85 Maximum Corner Rounding. When this is 0 I think the machine behaves as if Exact Stop is on all the time. The larger the number here the more the machine blends two moves at a corner and the less it slows down.

I checked my manual it is not a Parameter.

Possibly the Setting number is different in your machine. I was looking in the Manual for a 2001 machine.

Look for a Setting with the name MAX CORNER ROUNDING.
