I like Haas machine and have been running them for a few years, I am now running a VF11, We just ordered two more VF4's. The 11 is the first one I have ran with a renshaw probe, I love it!!

Congrats John. I just got the call from my HFO today. My TL-1 gets delivered Friday morning. Now I need to get the old lathe out of the way tonight so the riggers can install it.

What options did you get?

Probe

I ordered the WIPS option.

Renishaw Wireless intuitive probing system that includes the wireless tool setting probe and wireless offset probe

The demo was nice at HAAS Days Demo and I am sure that I will enjoy that feature.

Options

Hi Donkey Hotey,

Renishaw Wireless probe system
chip conveyor
work light
coolant pump
techniks tooling package with associated pull studs.

I didn't order the rigid tapping but will turn it on after the 200 hour demo is done. My HAAS sales representative said it was just a code and that no service call would be required.

I may also get the extended warranty, but that can be ordered any time before the 6 month warranty expires.

John

Coolant (high or low volume)? Chip auger? Rigid tapping?

Coolant pump

Hi Donkey Hotey,

I ordered the low volume coolant pump with the 5 gallon tank.

I know this will run out of fluid real quick and my intention is to have a customized tank built possibly larger than the 15 gallon tank offered with the high volume pump option and utilize the same pump. I have been told that the pump is adequate but the fluid storage is inadequate. One of our members that has a TM-1P and has made this modification and it works well. I also intend to put a Y connector on the coolant pump so I can use a garden hose to clean the machine when needed.

Yes, on the chip auger and rigid tapping (will turn it on after demo).

John

P.S. Congratulations on the TL-1. Looks like we both will have a Merry Christmas.

Ahhh...but you guys will be up and running when you get them. My collet closer is in the mail. I don't yet have a backplate for my 6-jaw chuck.

All I can do for a week or so is cut 'air'.

Are they 'installing' your SL20B on Friday or just dropping it off? My TL-1 is being 'delivered' on Friday but I am supposed to connect it to power, then schedule an 'installation'.

The TL-1 has no air system, no oil system and only four feet. I'm thinking the riggers could just locate it and leave. All that remains is rough level it, connect power, set the transformer taps, remove the shipping bracket and power it up. Sweep the table, fine-tune the leveling and spend a few 'quality hours' with the WD-40 trying to remove all of that Cosmoline.

I guess I'm going to have to schedule an appointment for them to come out and run through their delivery checklist anyway.

Hi pit202,

Well it sounds like both of you guys are going to have some pretty neat machines up and running in the near future.

Have Fun and enjoy!

I found brakekleen worked much better on the cosmoline.
