When I bought my '02 TM1 I was given a list of options it had been shipped with. It performs a G84 cylce in air ok but the parameter next to rigid tap is a '0' so I have been hesitant to try it on a part. Repeat rigid tap is also a '0' but I can change that to 1 with no problem. If I try to change the rigid tap setting to 1 the setting does not change. I do not have the original service manual so I am not exactly sure how the machine was shipped. If the control runs a g84 in air am I safe to try it in a part? |

I looked back at the quote the machinery broker provided me and it listed rigid tap as an option the machine was equipped with. I called Haas yesterday and asked them if they could look up the serial number and tell me if rigid tap was purchased for this machine. They said the records on this machine have been wiped clean and all they have is record that there was a machine by this serial number built - they know nothing else about it!! I wonder if I should go after the broker or Haas first to get this option turned on. I hate to pay for it if it was already purchased. There is no T next to it. The machine still has a T next to Coord Rot and scaling, and spindle orientation but not Rigid Tap. When does a prompt for a password come up? I enter 1 and enter and it is like I hit the 'clear' button. |

| Do you have the 'build sheet' with all the original parameters in your manual? I think mine listed the unlock codes for each of the options that came with my VF-2. IIRC, you type that code at the option line you wanted to turn on. You said "broker" but was that a resale or a Haas Factory Outlet? Are you the original owner? Haas is all about customer satisfaction but sometimes they get stuck between the customer and the HFO. I'd say if you have an original build sheet with it listed or the original invoice, Haas will make good on it.

| I guess I am getting a little off the original topic question here but no, I don't have any of the documentation that the mill would have shipped with. I bought it from a used equipment dealer in September. The machine originally came from Kentucky I believe, though it shipped to me from Ohio. I do not know the original owners name or contact info so I am at the mercy of my broker to track info down, since September he has not been able to get anything. I wish I had the original build sheet. I am going to call the HFO in Ohio tomorrow and see if they can help me out. The quote I received from the broker is the only documentation of options I have. I did call the HFO in Ohio before I bought the machine and I thought they told me that the machine was equipped with a tool changer, 4th, coolant system and rigid tap. Honestly I was looking at so many different machines in August and September I don't trust my memory. After spending an additional $4k getting this machine working when I thought it was coming in operable condition I could use a break. |

| what parameter are you changing? Estop the machine settings page 7 cursor down this will take you to setting 7 parameter override turn this on now you will be able to change ay parameters I would only do so if you have talked with a Haas Tech Also if you do not have the code for rigid tap, which your VF-2 comes with standard you cannot just switch it to a 1 and it will work you have to have the turn on code for a certain option, unless it has a T the you can try it out for 200 hours of powered on time |
