Those are some pretty cool changes. I've long thought that the Haas control is very well laid out and easy to use. This is even better...

HAILINHAAS,
The presentation says select models. What models?

Geof will become famous soon enough

I wonder how much influence, if any, comments on the Zone had regarding the ability to change the Graphic execution rate.

I guess I will have to wait until a buy another machine for a definite conclusion but it does seem like a definite improvement.

But please, please, make sure all the bugs are out before selling any. I still have buggy lathe software that was never fixed under warranty, I finally got worn down and stopped asking.

So much for 3-d simulation!

Question is: Is it possible to upgrade a '06 vintage to this software?
My VF4 was prolly the last batch of non 15" LCD controls delivered, and I would KILL for the new one. Not too worried about the others, but on the VF4 I'd love this.
Vote#2 for 3D simulation and possibly real-time simulation while the tool is running.

it`s looks like getting from ASCII DOS to WINDOWS 3.1 ( or less ) it is still Stone Age ;-/
I don`t see any improvements, I like my `95 controll - don`t need 5 windows on one screen. I wonder if they repaired the toolchange logic on TM`s ( You have one tool, type M6 for the next tool , machine goes up, you don`t change the tool , just press RESET, and the machine thinks you have changed the tool, magical way - without getting it from spindle ) just funny.

I like my control like it is , small and simple , If I have to choice what innovation to add on machine control is 3D simulation non-realtime to check the program and realtime when machining - like You said, look it is 2007 and fast 2008 year , and simulation on haas looks like DeluxePaint on 386 computers from `94 ;-)

I think it is interesting how different people like different things. I like the Haas graphics because it can be set to give a simple 2D picture with the Z position given by the coordinate display. I have seen an Okuma with a fancy multicolored 3D display in realtime and it just confused the heck out of me.

Geof

While 3D can be cumbersome, once you get used to it it really shines in the way of telling where your tool is in Z.
I sometimes switch to 3D view on the current graphics just to see where the heck the tip is.
Now, with that said, I still would absolutely love to see and pay good money for a real-life HAAS simulator. Get your offsets for tool and work0 downloaded from your machine, apply it to the program and view it on screen real time. That would be just as useful.
Monitoring through Etherenet and have all of those features available: Priceless

Nonetheless, the question still stands: Is it possible to load this sw in the '06 controls?
