I have been looking at the TM-1/TM-1P machines and notice they offer both the CT and BT 40 spindles. Presently I don't have any of either type of tooling. I notice on E-bay that there is a lot more tooling around for the BT40 series spindles. What is usually the preference on spindles and why, other than you presently have a selection of either the CT or BT 40 tooling? I would appreciate any and all comments as this will be quite an investment for me and I would like to do it correctly the first time. Thanks in advance for your help. John |

| The only differences between the two are the flange that a toolchanger grips and the notches for the keys; the same spindle accepts either type. I bought a VF2 that had been configured for export with a BT style toolchanger and it was only necessary to switch the toolchanger arm. I don't think I have ever seen BT tooling advertised at the tooling suppliers I use so it is possible you would limit yourself.
