Is a 6" milling vise like a Kurt 675 or 688 going to work ok with a TM-1 that has the factory chip shields on it without hitting anything? I have a TM-1 on the way I want to get some tooling and a vise on order too. |

| I have a TM-1P which I think is nothing more then a TM-1 with an enclosure and a tool changer. The 688 mounted on the center "T" slot leaves you about one inch of clearance on the back side. I had to cut almost an inch off the handle stub to clear my enclosure but that should not be a problem for you. Vern |

| If your using the center slot, a D675 will hit the z way cover when the vise is tightened all the way. A D688 will not, it doesn't have anything that protruedes from the front of the vise when tightened. Make sure you get the D688!! It's not much more, and it is a nicer vise. Btw, the Kurt speed handle clears everything. Last edited by Edster; 10-19-2007 at 06:39 PM. |
