Check eBay, I always see used Haas machines on there. I purchased an '02 VF2 from a seller on eBay. |

| Thanks but we really need to find a 2 for space reasons. What sucks is we can get a 3 for the same or less money than a 2 but we cannot fit the machine right now. Since you are a Haas tech, would you mind checking my other link on a problem with another VF2. Maybe you can shed some light for us. Thanks http://www.cnczone.com/cg.../13/6168.html? |

| Do you have High Speed maching on this mill? If you do you may be able to use it as a trial if you haven;t already. Take a look at the parameter and check to see if High speed machining is a 1 or 0 T. When you rapid each axis, you don't feel or hear anything? Don;t handle jog. |

| I am certain that we do not have high speed machining enabled on this machine and did not know it was an option. This is a 1998 model. You are saying it IS available for them? Is it a night and day difference in smoothness and such? When the machine rapids, it seems very normal and not rough. I am sure we need to look at the machine closer but honestly, we did not know how rough it sounded until we got the new VF2SS. The only 1998 seems a bit rough if you jog an axis very fast from one direction the the other. Also, I am wondering if this can be helped with some better programming. I have heard of small arcs as opposed to the point to point stuff we are posting right now. Can programming fix this? Thanks for all the help. |

As Far as the High Speed option, i would have to know what your software version is. That would give me an idea about what could be done. |

| Endmill, thanks for the links there. We have searched with the dealers and they want around 40K for a used VF2. We paid under 30K for our last one. I guess I can call but I think we may want to buy from the owner. I feel 25K should buy one of these. |

Hello Help? Can you help me find a CNC machinist? I have 16 openings in the Midwest. I am just looking to network w/ CNC folks or get into a resume pool. Anybody? | Viper, you may be stuck paying top dollar as I'm sure the competition to find a good used machine is stiff with the market going the way it is!
