Where to specify edge finder diameter?

Sorry for all the newb questions, I just got a VF2 and its a big step up from my old Acer knee mill with centroid controls. On my old machine it had field to specify the diameter of the edge finder being used, I cant seem to find that on the HAAS and my first part was off....maybe im not looking hard enough or do I just have to do it manually........?

    Thanks,
    Jim

I have a HAAS TM-1, and I don't think there is any place for it to compensate for the diameter automatically. I always just subtract half the diameter in my work offsets manually - which is actually adding as all the offsets are negative. (i.e. a .2" diameter and X at -17.2342 would end up being -17.1342)

Maybe someone else here can show me a trick I did not know to compensate automatically.

I have a vf-2 and from what i know that is not possible on this machine, or i just don't know it yet. I use a .2" dia. edgefinder and i hit the part zero button then i add or subtract .1" from the number. hope that helps

I ended up just entering it manually, no biggie....I was just used to the other way. Thanks for the input!

You can put in the diameter of finder in the tool offsets. I was going to play around with the different tool compensation codes to see if I could get it to compensate for the radius when jogging.

    Has anyone tried that?

Im still trying to get familar with this HAAS display....is there anywhere that tells you the cut time for the current part you are machining, as well as the number of completed parts. I did see some timers in there but they are all displaying total numbers from when the machine was put into operation.

    Jim,
When you are looking at the "time" screen, you can cursor down and zero some of those with the origin key.
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.
