So I go to power up the machine this morning, and all I get from the control is a steady beep. Checked incoming power and all seems fine. Could there be a blown fuse in the machine somewhere, or is it something worse? |

| JerryH: HAAS uses a PC type switching power supply for their processor power. This is near the middle top of the panel. AS with most PC power supplies there are extra leads and connectors. Check the voltages relative to common, which is probably black, these should read +5 V and +12 V. I would expect the +5 to be within +/- 0.1 V relative to 5. The processor board will probably work down to maybe as low as 4.5 V, but almost certainly would work down to 4.75 V. Relatively recently HAAS has had a batch of bad processors, but a 2001 machine should not fall in that group. . |
