I'm hoping someone can identify the drill / router pictured below. It's center cutting and does a great job in carbon filled plactics. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...sterydrill.jpg Vern |

| Your picture is a bit fuzzy (or my eyes are ) but I think I have seen a drill a bit like that for use drilling laminate covered MDF.Do the cutting edges have a little 'tooth' on the periphery, can't think of any better way to describe it, that means when you are drilling through it breaks through on the periphery before the center? |

| that tool is just a style of router bit, if you need to buy it there will be a supplier near you who will have 1. any grinding house should be able to make it, if you can't find 1. i could make you one today but i'm way up in canada. i've made those many times. |

| Sorry about the picture quality. If I use the flash the reflections ruin the clarity so I use a flash light and no flash. The problem with this is the need for a slow exposure speed and I don't have a tripod. I guess I need one of the new digital SLR's with image stabilization. The bit is designed to break out at the periphery first as Goef asked. When you look directly into the business end of the bit it makes a "Z" pattern. However, the vertical leg of the "Z" is absolutely vertical. I'll look into the router situation. I imagine most industrial supply houses handle them as well as EM's. Vern |
