Does anyone know how to unlock the text macro for editing or copying to disk?

paptep:

What is your definition of MACRO?

What is a "text macro"?

At what O-number is this MACRO located?

I think you are out of luck on that one. I have been told by a Haas technician that the students at a local college have tried it and just succeeded in screwing up the controller operating software so he has to go and reload things.

WOW!!!!!! that stinks. I just learned the same thing with the Graphics Interface on Fanuc Controls. Good thing a friend gave me a heads up before messing with that.

Geof, does a Haas use M29 for Rigid Tapping? If so what year machine? I have been meaning to ask for a while but kept forgetting LOL.

When you have Rigid Tapping activated, which costs money, then you just use G84, no M code needed to select it. If you want to Peck Tap you have to turn on REPEAT RIGID TAPPING. Look in the Haas Forum this has been discussed recently.

I asked this question only because I was told that all Mills use M29 to activate Rigid Tapping. I know this is not true because if it were I'd know about it. It just goes to show how much more there is in the CNC World. I always thought that Miscellaneous (M-Codes) were Machine Tool Manufacturer Specific with a few acceptions. M0-M9, M19 and M30.

Thanks for the information Geof. It is very much appreciated.

LOL maybe a PM would have been a better idea

He is not trying to unlock macros, he wanted to edit the engraving macro that comes as a standard feature on all Haas mills.
