I used to get the HAAS magazine until I finally purchased a HAAS. I have not seen one since? Thanks for bringing up the topic.
I was reading the Haas magazine they sent me. One of the articles had a shop running ti and inconel. They said something about a VF2 with a high tension drawbar? Is that an option, or are they saying the 1800# it has stock is high tension? Anyone else read it?

I heard tales of a Haas Magazine. Never seen one, but I heard they are out there... somewhere.

Know of the article you speak of. Not sure about the option though. I could not find it on the Haas website.
You know, I own two Haas machines. I can't get a magazine OR a return call from Selway
They aren't bad machines. I cut a lot of steel so they are a little light. I have a mini and an SL10 w/barfeed. I REALLY can't say anything bad about the machines. But I will not buy another one because I can not get them serviced. I don't get it...
I think you should get onto the Haas factory and complain. It is my understanding that the dealers who sell Haas machines are responsible for service but they are independent companies; they just have a dealership agreement with Haas but it is not an ownership relationship.
If the dealer is falling down on service and maybe causing loss of sales it is in the interest of Haas to crack the whip. But they cannot do this if they do not have the information.
That article suggests that there is a experimental/testing relationship going on between the tooling mfg, shop owner and HAAS. It may be a 'custom' setup
I've signed up 3 times for the magazine and never got one...

Geof, I understand, I HAVE called the Haas factory. It has gotten me nowhere. I have been politely, but firmly, told to deal with Selway. That has lost Haas and Selway about $250k this past year. It's going to cost them about $400k this year. I am actively looking for a 500mm horizontal. It ain't comming from Selway. I am fortunate in that CNC Sales here in the Puget sound area can in fact get parts. They had to take Haas to court to get to do that but they can get them and that is how my machines are serviced at the moment. I really wish I lived in another part of the country, I'd buy more Haas machines. They are a great bang for the buck.
I do not own any Hass machines. After a sales call manny years ago I started getting their magazine. I think it is verry well done with interesting topics. I do enjoy reading it. It is not full of add's like all the other machine shop mag's.
Dont get me wrong its a really good magazine, with interesting articles but isnt the whole thing an advertisement?
I mean it is published by Haas, and has nothing but Haas machines in it.
Good stuff though, places from all around the world. The knife maker from Germany was a good one, that guy had some skills.
