I am trying to get a program into a Haas Vf-3 from a floppy. I do not have any experience on the machine. The machine owner is the computer anti-christ so he is of no help. The file is a .cnc created from Bobcad V19. Can someone explain the operation in order to do this. I know all I am missing is something obvious. What type of file should I be using?
Thanks

I dont know about the bobcad side of things, but the file must have a % sign before and after any code.
1.Then go to the edit page of any program
2.Go to floppy directory and press enter/write
3.Highlight the program of choice off the screen and press enter/write
4. Cover eyes and ears and press cycle start!
That last one is a option!Gary

First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

File name beginning with letter O (not zero) followed by 5 numbers and no extension. i.e. O00001
I still fight loading files because of infrequent use but this should work.

CamIam,
Not sure as it has been along time since I used Bobcob, but If I remember right a ".cnc" file is not an ASCII file. It is a file formate for internal use by Bobcob.
So you need to save the file as a ".Tap", which saves it as an ASCII format.
Again been a long time but I think you can open the file up in Bc and then use "save as" and select .tap as the type. This is on the cam side.

If the shop owner is"computer anti-christ " I would suggest you let that moron run his own machine and get a good job .
been there done that still have the tshirt. Are you putting in the program number and .nc? o05150.nc?
depending on the year model haas ...you can go to an existing program, hit <edit>, <F1>, <File Menu>, <disk directory>, cursor down to the file you created on floppy ...hit <write>
Well, I got a file into the machine. Saved the file as a .tap, deleted the .tap, put in the percent signs, and all is well. Now I just need to get this Bobcad to generate useful code.
Thanks to everyone.
