| Martin, I use OneCNC's free NC Link. It is very easy to use and set up and there is a free version. Here is a link. http://www.onecnc.net/products/products_nclink.htm

| Maximum Distance for DNC What kind of distance can one expect for reliable DNC? My Computer is about 30 ft away (as the crow flies) . Cable recommendations. Thanks Ken |

| Ken, A big crow or small crow? Going to run some big programs are we? 30 feet should be no problem. Unless you are running some kind of high voltage equipment in between like say a Nuclear reactor, radar jammer or super dooper blender....... Your'e not are you. Just use a shielded cable to be safe.

| We have good success with XPertDNC. We have been using it for years (since it was called MultiDNC). It has some good editing and backplotting features too. Dan |

| Haas DNC It is possible to do DNC with HyperTerminal. It is a little tricky though. I would not recommend it. If you are looking for an inexpensive solution be sure it has Xmodem. More information can be found at the following link: http://www.haascnc.com/training/ |

| I am using SE-DNC http://www.dncsoftware.com/ I havn't had to use it for drip feed yet, but uploads, downloads and editing are a breeze with both my Haas VF0 and my Nakamura (1987) lathe. I am very happy with it so far. Regards, Ray in FLA |

| Cadem http://www.cadem.com/ has a free version for a single link up. Works well also 'Terminal' that came with win3.1 works better than hyperterminal and it runs under later win98 and above. Al
