TL-1 Purchase Opinion

I contacted HAAS direct and got this response via email from Scott Gasich (North American Business Manager) "Yes, current production VF mills do have the USB port as standard. You can run a program directly off of the USB stick as well.
"
Also if you go to custom build-a-quote on the HAAS website it shows the USB as standard in the top machine description; "Machine: VMC; 30" x 16" x 20" (762 x 406 x 508mm) (xyz), 20-hp (15kw) 7500 rpm, dual drive (Y-Delta), 20-tool carousel tool changer, 1000 ipm (25.4m/min) rapids, USB port, 1MB, rigid tapping, 55 gallon (208 liter) flood coolant system."
I would call HAAS direct and tell that what your HFO told you.

Maybe, just maybe they are trying to sell you a older machine that is sitting in stock outiftted the way you ordered it.

It's definitely not older--they told us 3-9 weeks for the factory to build it.

Now that you mention it, I see the USB port listed in the machine description. I've been to that page a million times and I've never noticed it.

USB is standard on the VF line I was told, not on the lathe line, least not as of two months ago when I was dealing for a VMC. I'd clarify with the reseller.

Hey Cory what did your dealer say about the USB option??

I went to IMTS and looked at the TL-1 and they said the USB would be standard on them but after we ordered one and received it, it didn't have it. The factory, (Frank Ramirez, Lathe Product manager) said that the TL's don't come standard with the USB.

It is included as standard equipment.

For the record;
I was quoted $1000.00 + tech travel time for the software to be upgraded to the current version by my HFO. I have a '04 machine since then HAAS has added a more features to the conversational portion and fixed a few bugs.
