hi , i just bought a new tm1 mill from haas. the belt that drives the spindle rides up and down the 2 cogs in clockwise - counterclockwise . it then rubs . haas are to put 2 belts on to cure it . the engineer tried to set the motor screws front and back and this helped but it still moves ad rubs . has anybody seen this before, does anyone know if their mills belt runs in the middle or does it ride up and down the spindle cog , thanks

I SPOKE TO HAAS 2 DAYS AGO , STILL WAITING FOR A FORMAL SOLUTION AND RETURN OF 2 EMAILS

Geof will become famous soon enough
Drve belt rubbing has been mentioned a few times in different threads. The fic is to adjust the motor alignment and I believe sometimes it is necessary to use shims. Your machine must be under warranty so keep at them until it is fixed.

Geof,
You know we will get this fixed. Simon spoke with a couple of people here yesterday and we are on it. We will get Simon and anyone else the help they need. As you know we are very proactive and even get on the forums to help customers. I even post my email and direct line telephone number on this and other forums. I do have to add that many times I get on here to find that you have already helped someone. I would like to thank you for your help.

I don't have any plans for a personal visit but I might send someone down. Right now we do not have any machine purchases planned having literally run out os space. This year looks like it will be the first year since 1999 that I have not bought a machine, or two or four.
