VF 6 Trying to get to warmup settings

We just got an older model VF-6, in the process of getting it up and running we read in the manual somthing about a warm up cycle and it references settings 109-112. when we get into the settings screen there is no 109-112,
was this an option that had to be turned on or is there another screen that we didn't find?

The warm up mentioned in Settings 109-112 is for temperature compensation and it is an option.

The warm up cycle is something different: this is a short program that runs the spindle up through its speed range with a pause for a few minutes at different speeds. The reason for this cycle is to purge the oil out of the lower spindle bearing which has probably filled with oil while the machine was not running. Haas recommends that whenever the machine has been idle for more than three days the warm up cycle is run before high speed operation.

I can tell you if it is not done the lower spindle bearing can get too hot to touch from high speed running

Your should find the warm up program; it is O02020 on most machines. The running time is 20 minutes or so.

There is another program called run in which Hass recommends be run if the machine has been out of use for several weeks. This program has much longer pauses at the different speed steps and the higher speeds are cycled a minute or so fast and then slowed down to 500 rpm then fast again so that overheating does not occur before the oil is purged. It is also recommended to increase the spindle oiler air pressure from the normal operating pressure of around 18 psi up to 30 psi for run in.

If you cannot find these programs on your machine I can post copies.

Warm Up Cycle

Actually after three months I would recommend program to brake the spindle in for new machines. The run time is aprox. 2 hours. If you call Haas seervice they may help you.
Here is the 2020 program
%
O02020 (Spindle Warm-up)
(This program should be run prior to)
(machine use if machine has been idle)
(for more than 4 days.)
(Cycle time: 20-minutes.)
(This program can be used for all)
(spindle types and may be used daily)
(for spindle warm-up prior to high)
(speed spindle use. Adjust spindle)
(speed override depending on maximum)
(spindle speed of machine: Set)
(override at 50% for 5,000 rpm)
(machines, set at 100% for 7,500)
(& 10,000 rpm machines, and set at)
(150% for 15,000 rpm machines.)

Looks like it is not needed thanks to WITOMCIO.

I also suggest use the run in and monitor the spindle temperature by feeling it every few minutes when it is doing the 5000 rpm and 7500 rpm sequences. If it feels warm shut it down and start at the beginning.
