HAAS Rotary - Can I make Yuasa work? | | I have just purchased a (4 axis ready) Mini mill and I am trying to save money on the 4th axis indexer. I have a Yuasa SUDX 10" rotary table with brush servo (i assume). Why can't I get a new Yaskawa servo motor of the appropriate size (replacement motor for HRT210) and replace this in the Yuasa to make it HAAS compatible? I just can't believe that the Yuasa is useless and I have to spend $12K on the HAAS. I am experienced in hobby CNC controls where this swap would be simple, but I have no idea if I can change the control parameters or tune the servo to the non-haas hardware. The Yuasa is 90:1 gear ratio and I assume if HAAS were the same it would simplify the process.
The other concern is the Yuasa may be too big for the 10" Z of the mini mill anyway and may have to be replaced regardless.
Any help appreciated,
Thanks
