    OneCNC & Hass

Can the OneCNCxr2 Cam program be used with a Hass mill?

I E-mailed my local Hass salesman and got this answer: "Haas is the second largest builder of CNC controls in the world. If the cad / cam system you are looking at does not have a post for the Haas control you better not buy it."

    Not much help there...

    Absolutely Luke!

The Haas post can also be modified easily (if you know what you are doing), I leave mine alone .
The one I have was modified by someone who does know what they are doing, to do multi level peck tapping among other mods.

OneCNc does of course come with a Haas Post

Pretty good repsonse by HAAS. But your right, not very helpful. I have noticed
HAAS generally will not mention other brand names for anything(eg;Phase converters, coolant, tooling, software) They will say what the haas product NEEDS in terms of specifications. Lots of business and legal reasons for this I suppose.

I am surprised that they would not plug the HAASCAM thing (ONECNC). This leads me to wonder what the actual relationship is between HAAS and ONECNC as to HAASCAM. Did ONECNC license the HAAS brand as the sole promoter of HAASCAM? Not a whole lot of info going on at HAASCAM.COM. Hopefully Hu or WMS will ring in here and fill me in.

I run XR2 PRO and love it.

I read somewhere that OneCNC and Hass teamed up on HASSCAM but I can't find any information on the Hass site. They don't list anything about HASSCAM at all that I can see. They do have a great deal of information, so I may be overlooking it. (?)

Actually, I originally contacted my local salesman to ask about HASSCAM. He said he never heard such a thing, that's when I ask if OneCNC could be ran on there machines. Again he was clue-less.

If I were a salesman I would make it my business to know the product inside out...

HaasCam is supposed to be offered by Haas distributors only. My Haas distributor has switched to OneCNC and is also offering the HaasCAM package. It is basically OneCNC Express. It is rigged up with Haas specific cycles and such. I believe the posts are already set up for Haas mills.

What Wolog said is about as much as I know about the specifics of the deal.
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)

I will try to scan the OneCNC HaasCam info page tomorrow. If someone is interested, the HFO in Lafayette, La is selling it. The last time I heard anything, it was around $1500.00. I think the same price as Express.

Haas and oncnc are teanmed up together and have a version out of there XR2 It is the same as there XR2 but has a lot of reference to haas and has the haas codes as well.

if you know what the differences in the haas and fanuc codes you should be able to modify fanuc codes and just use the fanuc side of ONECNCXR2.

This is only for the mill version.
In australia any haas purchased you get a free copy of XR2 (HAASCAM) with it.
I would rather be riding my harley!!!
