Just got a Haas VF1 with 30k spindle

I just got a VF1 with a 30k spindle and it's a 30 taper spindle. I just found out I don't have rigid tapping. My sales guy tells me that the 30k spindle cannot rigid tap. Does anyone know why? I'm pretty disappointed. I already ordered 3 reverse tapping heads is almost the price of having rigid tapping.

It probably doesn't have the torque requirement at low rpm, because low rpm direct drive = very low AC frequency. Low rpm/high torque requires a gearbox with a decent low gear ratio, so that the main motor can turn over with more mechanical advantage.

I also have another question. I got a HRT160 rotary table with it with a four sided tombstone. Can you recommend any good workholding, fixturing that I can purchuse for this. This machine is mainly for making parts that are 2.5 x 2.5 inches in X&Y to 4.0 X 4.0 and .045 to .375 in Z in engineered plastics. These parts have hundreds to thousands of holes drilled in them, raging from .004 to .026 in dia. If anyone knows of any good vendors out there send me a link. I have the customer coming in Febuary and I would like to demo the machine and it's max capabilites to them.
