    Minimal Lub usage?

We have a VM-2 minimal lubrication system mill. We have had it about 8 months. The oil (SHC625) has dropped about 1" and the sight glass shows usage.
The grease (SHC007), however, is not showing any usage that I can determine. The manual says "A full grease canister should last approximately one year." While we only run one shift 5 days a week, I think I should see some change in the grease canister. Maybe?

Is this normal? How can I tell if it's operating correctly?

The machine tracks how many inches of movement you make and it Dispenses the lube at a certain amount of travel. You can use alot of hours but not much movement and it will last alot longer.
Haas ended up taking care of our problems.

Thanks for the answer. Did you ask about this or did you read it somewhere?
Just concerned. Don't want to hurt the machine.

BTW, have been reading with interest about your troubles. The wrench thing I think was a misunderstanding on your part but the other stuff is concerning.
I am very surprised about it. We have had the opposite experiences with our dealings with Haas. We did have to replace a spindle but we contacted them a few days before the warranty expired and they replaced it, no problem. We have had surface finish issues and 4th axis issues that they have been very helpfull about.

I just don't know what to tell you. I wish you luck.

when we had spindle lube problems they told us how that system works, there is a screen you can get to that has a diagram of the lube system and I think it will tell you how many inches moved and when the next lube pulse is, ect. and you can manually activate the spindle lube and way lube there.

Just an update: Removed the grease canister and looked. It was/is using grease. Just that the grease was sticking to the walls of the canister so it looked full from the outside. No problem after all.
