    VF3 Toolchanger crash

    hi, we've had a crash!!

    the tool changer went in for a tool change,executed a tool change but the tool changer didnt move away and the spindle came down and destroyed the tool changer.

    any ideas what could have caued this???

    One possibility is that the switch which detects the retracted position of the tool changer malfunctioned so it gave the signal to the control that the changer was retracted when it was not.
    An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

    Or the relay stuck, I believe it has one.

    do you mean the relays on the i/o board?

    Switches or the cam follower which brings the shuttle in/out is broken/missing.

    our tool changer has not crashed yet but it has given us several errors saying tool changer problem on the screen. I will look through my pics and find the error code and see if anyone knows what is causing our problem too. should be the same changer as what is on the vf-3.
    Haas ended up taking care of our problems.
