Has anyone ever had AM radio interference with a Haas mill? I am having a high pitched whine in my AM radio when the stepper motors are engaged on my TM-1 and sitting idle. I thought it might be noise going back down the neutral as the plug on the radio is polarized. However that is not the case as I have tried running the radio and TM-1 with the radio being on battery power. This only occurs when the machine is sitting idle with the emergency stop disengaged.
If anyone has had this problem, what did you do to fix it if at all?
Some do and some don't. Had three at the last place I worked and only one did it. They produce radio interference, but I never could determine just what component was the culprit.
That one machine was so bad, it would wipe a floppy disk if you had the cabinet door open and within a foot or two.
Really ticked me off, as I was trying to listen to am am radio station. Good news is it did not affect FM!
The machine I own now also produces the interference, but not as bad. Good thing my shows on FM now. A weak signal on a AM station could be affected about 20 plus feet away.
Never did find anyone who knew the source.
