    Thread Milling VQC

I have a job coming up that I am considering thread milling on instead of tapping (super duplex - lovely stuff) I was wondering how good the VQC thread milling was? Is it worth using or should I look at writing it 'long hand' I am pretty sure our CAD/CAM package doesn't give us the option of thread milling so I am just looking at alternatives.
I know I can ask my tooling supplier to sort it out for me but I would prefer to have a bit of control over it myself and I don't suppose it would hurt to re-learn how to do it. (It has been a long while since I last had to program for thread milling)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thread milling does suck to program by hand but its easy, just tedious.

need the thread milling circle then ad a z depth to the g3/g2 pass and keep going till it hits depth. z is determined by the thread pitch. 1/Threads per inch
    thanks

Writing a threadmill sequence for a Haas machine is hardly tedious, you only need about eight lines of code, sixteen if you are doing two passes.
