Also, just so you know, I believe the servo motors alone cost between $1,500 to $2,000. And, you would still need all of the cables too, hundreds of more $$$$$.

I'm thinking your money may be better spent with buying a brushless machine and selling the old brushed one. I'd think you need all new drives and all new motors at the minimum. Like you said that's easily $10-15k once you include cables, different couplers, pullies, brackets, etc. What's so bad about the brushed servos anyway?

We recently performed such a conversion at the school where I work. We had a VF2 from the very end of the brushed era that we needed to convert to brushless in order to use the trunnion indexer we purchased using grant money. We were able to work with Haas on it (being a nonprofit and all) but the switchover took many full-time days and a LOT of new parts.

My comment was of course meant to be address to the OP. I just got the posts mixed up and forgot who was who...
I took it he was wanting to replace the X,Y,Z axis drives. He didn't mention "rotary" in the post, I guess it could go either way. If he is talking about a rotary table, then yes it would be quite doable. My comment was addressing table as being the X,Y table in which case you would probably understand my train of thought.

I did assume that he meant rotary "tables," so I hope he did mean that. Perhaps if he would respond to the posts he's received we would know!
