I have a 93 VF-2. When an alarm occurs, the spindle stops, but the program feed keeps going. This turns an relatively uneventful alarm into a major catastrophe. Is there a parameter to make the machine stop everything when an alarm is set? I looked all over, but could not find anything that looked relevant.
Thanks in advance,
Tony
I think the lube alarm got me a couple times, low air, and I tripped on a heavy cut once or twice.
Low lube and sometimes low air should not alarm out until after the cycle is finished. Overloading an axis on a heavy cut should shut everything down right then.
Need to find out what the problem is there. I did see a spindle on a weak drive that would stop under heavy load and not alarm out, but if you get an alarm, it should shut down.

There are a few things that can cause this type of problem, such as a faulty contactor or spindle drive. Other things can be looked at, such as the counter balance system. The alarm description can provide a clue as to what may be happening. Please contact me. I may be able to help.
