Hi All, I've got an '04 VF2SS VMC with low hours that is acting weird - I have a 1.5" parlec facing insert endmill in T10 marked heavy. When this tool is in the spindle, I get the through spindle coolant alarm at various points in the toolpath. Since I generated the path through CAM and gave the facing op enough overlap, I edited the toolpath selecting a lighter 1.250" mill also with TSC and the path works fine. Anyone see similar behavior? Give me an idea what may be doing it? Chris |

| Chris, I have had similar problems. It sounds like the coolant pressure switch is acting up. If the pressure switch does not see a certain PSI, it will cause an alarm. I go through his every now and then with my VF-5/50. The parlec cutter may have much bigger holes through the tool which is causing the switch to see less pressure. Your other cutter may be just right as to avoid the TSC alarm. Trash in the coolant will also give you grief with that pressure switch. Hope that helps. |
