    95 vf3 ipm

i guess i have a two part question...

i have a 95 vf3. how many inches per minute will it cut? or is it different for each machine as some may have been built with this option or that etc...

secondly... how whats the threshold for cutting at higher feeds? IE; i am cutting molds currently and have been cutting at .002" increments and feeding at 150 ipm and the table moves around so fast and makes a little noise when it gets to the change in table direction like going from X to Y etc... is this that bad?

My 96 is limited to 300 ipm feedrate. Newer machines can go much higher.

There is no way to tell what noise you are getting, so no way we can tell you if it is bad. There are servo motors guards and more that make noise. Just check your finishes and sizes. Probably no problem.

Hi cartel, how is your mold cutting going? I have a 1994 vf3 and want to cut at 150-200 ipm as well and was hoping you had some feedback on how your machine is running. Mine is having some issues in the corners holding tolerance at high feeds, not sure what the issue is. It makes some noises on the short fast moves, especially in Z but it sounds pretty normal on mine, just the sheetmetal drumming a little.
