They will run without major problems. Will they run as good as a newer mori, no. Nothing wrong with the haas mills though if you understand the limitations.
We just got two new Haas mills and this is our very first ones, can anyone tell how they perform? We have six Mori mills and nine Mori Lathes so we desided to try a VF9 and a VF3SS. Let me know your thoughts on the mills.
Thanks for any input

As someone who owns a VF3SS I would have advised against it. The SS - unless they've changed the ball screws in the last 6 years - are very weak. I have incredibly good success with mine - but I'm not a job shop and machine mostly softer materials.
Don't get me wrong, this machine is great...but going from a Mori you (as underthetire mentioned) will need to learn the limitations.
You may end up liking the control better though.
As far as the VF9...hopefully you at least got the 50 taper?
Congrats either way - new machine day is always fun.
Oh yeah - and this post is useless without pics!

Here is a picture of your VF-9 before it left the factory. I cannot find your VF-3SS.
Thanks,

No....???
We have the Haas's up and running and i love the control ten times better than the Mori. It is a lot faster to program than the Mori is. I LOVE all of the user friendly fetures about the Haas over the Mori. The VF3SS is a very fast in all the rapids than the Mori's we have. I think we will be buying more Haas machine's in the near future . I was wrong in running down the Haas before, now i know there good machines. I will keep you up to date on how they run and hold up. The thing i like the most about the Haas is that they are half price of a Mori.
Thanks

You must have very old moris...
Probably are older...since the newer mori's have like 2200ipm rapids and a lightning fast tool changer.
I will say...you get what you pay for regarding Haas and Mori...so there is something about one being twice as much than the other. That said, I still like the haas control's ease of use over the newer mori's...although the new Mori controls are really nice.
Glad to hear you are up and running and happy with 'em. Treat them right and they will be great machines for you!
