    Probing in a TM-1P

I have a brand new Tm-1p, and I am trying to wrap my mind around the probing cycles.

I only have a 10 tool changer on this, and would like to use all 10 tools.

This means I need to store the probe length in an unused offset.
Let us say offset #50 for the sake of discussion.

Right now, it defaults to whatever tool pocket the probe is in.

I do not want it to do that.

I want to only put the probe in to set my G54, G55, etc... then remove it, and put a real tool in there.

I would rather not calibrate the probe every time I do this...

I would like to put the probe in, say the T10 position, and probe my part.
But, since I just ran a part with 10 tools, H10 is not set to the probe length.
I would like it to read the probe length from H50, rather than the H value from the tool in the spindle.

This must be possible, any ideas?

Assuming you are using the Renishaw probing system I believe you will have to modify the probe cycles to look at a length offset that does not match the tool number. It's easy enough to edit the probe macro programs in your control's program library but I would recommend you call the people at Renishaw to get the necessary change information. They are extremely helpful and have certainly run into this request before. Their phone number is 847-286-9953.

Let us know what they suggest, I would like to do the same thing you are trying to do. I also have a TM-1P and need all ten pockets on many occasions.
