    Rigid tapping

Does anyone know if the tap cycle can be changed on a VF-5 Haas so the tap feeds in and out at the same spindle speed, looks like the spindle speed is doubled on the reverse cycle.

    Thanks

There is a setting in the parameters of your machine. Probably on the same page as repeat rigid tap. Set it to 1 and it will be the same as when it went in.

Quick Reverse Out of a G84 Rigid Tapping Cycle.
This rigid tapping feature has the tap exit faster than it entered. A J code on
the G84 line commands this, for example, J2 retracts twice as fast, J3 retracts
three times as fast, etc. up to J9. The J code must be specified in each block.

Setting 130 - Tap Retract Speed
This setting affects the retract speed during a tapping cycle (The mill must have
the Rigid Tapping option). Entering a value, such as 2, will command the mill
to retract the tap twice as fast as it went in. If the value is 3, it will retract three
times as fast. A value of 0 or 1 will have no affect on the retract speed. (Range
    0-4)
Entering a value of 2, is the equivalent of using a J code of 2 for G84 (Tapping
    canned

Setting 130 RIGID-TAP RETRACT MULTI set it to 0 or 1.

If you specify a a J value in the G84 line it will override whatever Setting 130 does. J1 retracts at the same sped as entry, J2 twice as fast, J3 three times as fast, etc.
