converting a 1992 VF1 to be ran by a mach 3 setup instead of the old haas controller? Is it even possible?
Monitor looks like crap. Panel is rough looking too. Cant see some of the buttons. Not an easy way to transfer my g-code to the machine. But Im new to this and did not know if the old haas controller was still a good unit or if was too outdated. If its still concidered a good controller and I can get a new monitor and replacement button panel and have a good way to get my g-code to the machine then I will keep it.
Haas VF-2, HA5C, Hardinge CHNC 1, BobCAD V23
I would look in to FlashCut CNC instead. Much more ready for an out of the box conversion like this. They have servo drive systems ready to go. Integrating the tool changer may be a bit of a challenge, but it can be done.
