i have a renishaw probe that went on the blink, pulling another probe(same style) from another mill, but it doesnt recognize it when i go to calibrate, is there somewhere that we would need switch probe id's or something, thanks. |

| When you say they are the same "style", do you mean they are the same model and what is it? Are they the same age? What method do you use to turn the probe on? M-Code, auto on, etc.. If they are the same age and model, then they should interchange just fine. There is no I.D. that the system is looking for. |

| Take the probe in question and hold it so it has good visibility to the OMM receiver. Use M23 and cycle start. This should turn on the probe and you should see a green LED flashing if it did. Cycle M23 to turn off again. If this test works, then the system is communicating just fine. If this works but does not using VQC then you will have to hunt down the differences between the two machines regarding probe setup and Renishaw programs. Hope this helps. |
