Need Help! hass vf2ss 2006 x axis noise - CNCzone.com-The Largest Machinist Community on the net!

we have a 2006 vf 2ss, has been a great machine so far, the x axis seems to be getting loud when it is in rapid mode. finish and tolerance are fine,any suggestions.

We had same problem in 2007 VF2-SS and it turned out to be x-axis thrust bearing going bad. It was still "tight" but it made sort of rumbling/whining noise while rapiding.

I agree with finncnc. That is located on the motor side

Guys

thanks for the quick response

any suggestions on the next step.we are a small shop and do most of our repairs in house. have had fadals for 15 years and seem to keep them up an going for some time,question is what parts and anything out of the norm that we should know for the repair
